The YMCA of Greenwich held swim evaluations on Sept. 24 for the children participating in the new special needs swim program. The Abilis Community Foundation generously awarded a $10,000 grant to the YMCA of Greenwich to develop a new swimming program for children with special needs. The course will teach basic water safety and swimming concepts to children with disabilities and their caregivers. The grant also allowed the YMCA to purchase special steps for our pool to make entry and exit easier for the special needs swimmers.
