Transition Services for Adulthood

Our LEAP and Project SEARCH programs are specifically designed to help young adults with disabilities transition seamlessly from high school into adulthood, along with securing competitive employment.

Each person enrolled in the program has an individualized plan that includes vocational, social, recreational, and adaptive living goals and objectives. Our community-based program teaches young adults how to navigate their community and serves as a method of transitioning participants into competitive employment. Our LEAP programs are available in central Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, Westport, and Wilton.

Project SEARCH is a one-year transition program that takes place entirely at the workplace. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration and relevant job-skills training through strategically designed internships with the primary objective of securing competitive employment. It is never too early to plan for transition to adult life. Preparing your child for transition to adult life is a gradual process and starting early can have many benefits later.

Having your child start early with Abilis by your side will ensure a successful transition to adulthood.
