The Greenwich Junior United Way (GJrUW) – in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and the Greenwich YWCA – will host the second annual "Together We Shine" red carpet celebration for Abilis. The "Roaring Twenties" themed event will take place on Saturday, June 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich at 4 Horseneck Lane. Registration is free and open to all local high school students and recent graduates, ages 14-20. To reserve tickets, visit greenwichunitedway.org.

"'Together We Shine' is an incredibly special evening for everyone involved, bringing together high school students and Abilis members for a fun night celebrating the differences, abilities, needs and dreams in everyone," said Amanda Finn, GJrUW Program Coordinator.

Last year's successful inaugural event was attended by more than 150 Abilis members and high school students. More than 75 students have already signed up for this year's event.

"The opportunity for our teenage Abilis clients to actually walk the red carpet is an exciting time," said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis. "It's also a wonderful experience to have an event where they can have fun with other area teens — it is a great way to show them what a wonderful community they are a part of."
