GREENWICH — Abilis, a Greenwich-based nonprofit, will celebrate its 67 years of supporting individuals with special needs and their families at its annual gala, Spring for Abilis.

The event, one of Abilis’ major fundraisers for the year, will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Woodway Country Club in Darien.

The evening will include a champagne reception, cocktails, dinner, and dancing, as well as silent and live auctions. Live music will be provided by ETA Music. Funds raised at the Spring for Abilis Gala will help the nonprofit provide essential services and support for more than 700 individuals of all ages with special needs and their families.

The gala co-chairs are Bibi Clarke and Daniella Mini of Greenwich, and Fran Cohen of Weston. All three have strong connections to Abilis as they are mothers of young adults who participate in individualized day and/or transitions programs in Greenwich — Danny, Diego, and Ali, respectively. The transitions programs are designed to help young adults to become more independent, find meaningful jobs, and participate more fully in the communities in which they live.

Abilis provides services to individuals living in Fairfield County towns that supports individuals with special needs from birth throughout their lives.. A leader in in the special needs community for more than 67 years, Abilis has a long-standing reputation for individualized, high quality care.
