PDF Press Release

Abilis, the nonprofit organization providing services and support to more than 800 individuals with special needs and their families, and the Town of Greenwich, are pleased to announce that Abilis is back for its fourth year operating the Island Beach Concession stand! Abilis will be staffing and managing the concession stand, serving up favorites such as burgers, fries, hot dogs and lots of frozen treats and refreshing drinks and snacks. The Island Beach Concession Stand opens to the public on Saturday, June 8!

“We are really excited to be back for our fourth summer managing and staffing the Island Beach Concession stand,” said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis. “The opportunity to serve the community while providing a meaningful and inclusive employment is a huge win for everyone involved. Our Abilis community members love taking the ferry out to Island Beach to work at the concession stand, prepare the food, interact with co-workers and serve the customers with support from the Abilis job coaches. It’s a wonderful way to spend the summer and we are so happy the Town and the community have put their faith and business with Abilis to run the stand.”
