The public charity, The Needs Clearing House, Inc. (“NCH”), is sponsoring monthly Pizza Night events at Abilis in Greenwich, starting in November.

The first event will feature NCH providing pizzas from Planet Pizza in Greenwich to Abilis’ “Birthday Party/Dance” event at 6:30pm on November 18.

Next, NCH will again provide a Pizza Night for the Abilis “Teen Hang” event, scheduled for 7:00pm on November 20. Both events will be held at the Abilis campus located a 50 Glenville Street in Greenwich.

Between the two events some 80 Abilis residents and staff are expected to attend.

Other events where NCH hopes to Partner with Abilis (and others if interested), include plans for an Abilis inter-house social among the 22 Abilis “houses” that exist in the greater Greenwich/Stamford area.

Joe Kaliko, President of the The Needs Clearing House, Inc. said, “Abilis is an exemplary charity serving our community. It is with great pleasure that The Needs Clearing House is helping support social events at Abilis with something as simple, yet fun and tasty, as pizza! It is universally enjoyed.”

“We’re thrilled to have the support of the Needs Clearing House and this great connection with Planet Pizza. These kinds of partnerships are central to our realizing our goal of inclusion. Their initiative and leadership is greatly appreciated by all of us at Abilis,” said Keelin Daly of Abilis.

Kaliko went on to say, “Not only are our pizza events enjoyed by those eating pizza; in many cases our events give the kitchen staffs at the various charities we serve, a break.”

Planet Pizza has been partnering with the NCH and various corporate sponsors to provide pizza monthly to charitable organizations in Fairfield County, including Kids in Crisis in Cos Cob, River House Adult Day Care Center (also in Cos Cob). the Disability Resource Network in Bridgeport and Derby and the Bridgeport Rescue a Mission.

In all over 400 people are fed each month at pizza lunch or dinner events, consistent with one of The Needs Clearing House’s objectives of helping charities help others.
